Caroline Guthrie brings 15+ years of expertise in collection management and preservation to her role as founder of Memento Vitae Arts Consulting. Her career spans collaborations with leading museums, galleries, family offices, and private collectors, providing AAM-standard guidance on operations, strategic planning, and risk management for collections valued from $5M to over $2B.

Caroline began her career as a registrar at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and later served as Managing Director of Private Client Services for Pure Insurance's art team and Director of Museum Services at Hindman Auctions. Her advisory work encompasses thousands of collections across diverse institutions and private holdings, from encyclopedic museums and historic sites to significant private collections of contemporary art, antiquities, rare books, numismatics, couture, and comic books.

Caroline specializes in collection cataloguing, valuation, strategic planning, risk assessment, and disaster response for fine art and luxury assets. She remains at the forefront of technological innovation, having implemented Web 3.0 technologies and advanced database systems that enhance collection management efficiency and generate valuable insights on art preservation, audience engagement, and curatorial needs.

She holds a BA in History from the University of Maryland and an MA in Arts Administration with a specialization in historic preservation from the School of the Art Institute Chicago. Caroline maintains active membership in ArtTable, the American Institute for Conservation, and the American Alliance for Museums.
